Serbian publisher of extraordinary calendars - Publikum Printing House from Belgrade - invited two New York-based designers Hjalti Karlsson and Jan Wilker to do Publikum's 12th art calendar for the year 2005. Inspired only by the footage they collect on their trip to Belgrade and the rest of Serbia, Karlssonwilker will do this real-time-design project designing and illustrating 12 pages of the calendar in only 12 days.

In July 2004 during the voyage named 'Karlssonwilker VS Serbia' they will meet the members of Serbian creative community, admire the highlights of Serbian design and culture, sleep in Serbian orthodox monasteries, get face to face with the monuments of the former communist regime and the ruins of the buildings remaining from the 1999 NATO War. They will also go to Serbian traditional style taverns, visit farmers and flee markets and breathe in the atmosphere of everyday life of ordinary people in Serbia - until recently, one of Europe's most troubled countries.

Laetitia Wolff from New York is a guest curator for the 2005 calendar. The Publikum Calendar project is conceived and creatively produced by the FIA Art Group from Belgrade.
